How to Counter Climate Change Alarmists

How to Counter Climate Change Alarmists

Adapted from Bud Bromley CO2 does not, and cannot by the laws of physics, cause significant warming of this planet. Climate alarmists often times refer to total atmospheric concentration of CO2 at about 410 ppm. But, humans only contribute about 10% of that total 400 ppm; i.e., 40 ppm from all human sources. In other words, even if CO2 were causing global warming, which it is not, and then there is nothing practical that humans could do to stop it. The natural CO2 processes (known as the carbon cycle) are enormously larger and more complex than anything humans have the …

CARBON DIOXIDE The good news

Indur M. Goklany With a foreword by Freeman Dyson 2015 GWPF The Global Warming Policy Foundation GWPF Report 18 Foreword By Freeman Dyson Indur Goklany has done a careful job, collecting and documenting the evidence that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere does far more good than harm. To any unprejudiced person reading this account, the facts should be obvious: that the non-climatic effects of carbon dioxide as a sustainer of wildlife and crop plants are enormously beneficial, that the possibly harmful climatic effects of carbon dioxide have been greatly exaggerated, and that the benefits clearly outweigh the possible damage. I …

The History of the Global Warming Scare

by Alan Cheetham July 28, 2009 SPPI REPRINT SERIES ♦ October 1, 2010 BACKGROUND The U.N.-based IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) produced its latest report in 2007 (AR4). Its position on global warming (based on the outputs of computerized climate models) indicates that the models only depend on anthropogenic CO2 after 1970 – prior to that, warming and cooling is explained by natural factors. So even though industrial civilizations have been producing increased amounts of CO2 since the late 1800s, it only becomes a factor in the models after 1970.

Water Vapor Rules the Greenhouse System

Monte Hieb at Geocraft.com Last revised: January 10, 2003 Just how much of the “Greenhouse Effect” is caused by human activity? It is about 0.28%, if water vapor is taken into account– about 5.53%, if not. This point is so crucial to the debate over global warming that how water vapor is or isn’tfactored into an analysis of Earth’s greenhouse gases makes the difference between describing a significant human contribution to the greenhouse effect, or a negligible one.

Climate Science’s Myth-Buster

Climate Science’s Myth-Buster

It’s time to be scientific about global warming, says climatologist Judith Curry. City Journal Guy Sorman | Winter 2019 We’ve all come across the images of polar bears drifting on ice floes: emblematic victims of the global warming that’s melting the polar ice caps, symbols of the threat to the earth posed by our ceaseless energy production—above all, the carbon dioxide that factories and automobiles emit. We hear louder and louder demands to impose limits, to change our wasteful ways, so as to save not only the bears but also the planet and ourselves.

Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW); A Tangled Web Strangling Its Creators and Proponents

WUWT March 3, 2019 Guest opinion: Dr. Tim Ball Two recent events triggered the idea for this article. On the surface, they appear unconnected, but that is an indirect result of the original goal and methods of global warming science. We learned from Australian Dr, Jennifer Marohasy of another manipulation of the temperature record in an article titled “Data mangling: BoM’s Changes to Darwin’s Climate History are Not Logical.” The second involved the claim of final, conclusive evidence of Anthropogenic Global Warming ((AGW). The original article appeared in the journal Nature Climate Change. Because it is in this journal raises …

On the Present Halting of Global Warming

Syun-Ichi Akasofu International Arctic Research Center, University of Alaska Fairbanks, USA; E-Mail: sakasofu@iarc.uaf.edu; Tel.: 1-907-474-6012; Fax: 1-907-474-5662 Received: 28 January 2012; in revised form: 15 April 2013/ Accepted: 15 April 2013/ Published: 3 May 2013 Abstract: The rise in global average temperature over the last century has halted since roughly the year 2000, despite the fact that the release of CO2 into the atmosphere is still increasing. It is suggested here that this interruption has been caused by the suspension of the near linear (+ 0.5° C/100 years or 0.05° C/10 years) temperature increase over the last two centuries, due …

The Green New Deal: Scope, Scale, and Implications

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Dan Bosch, Ben Gitis, Dan Goldbeck, Philip Rossetti EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Green New Deal (GND) is a sweeping policy plan setting out ambitious objectives for energy and economic policy. The breadth of its proposals makes it daunting to assess the GND using the standard tools of policy analysis. Nevertheless, this short paper is an initial foray. We have three broad conclusions: The GND’s proposed goals, “mobilization,” and specific policy projects encompass social and institutional changes far exceeding the narrow policy goals, but these changes are impossible to quantify at this point; Many of the policies proposed in the …
